Vocational Training Center for Disabled children above 15 years of age

Our Services
All the services provided to the Disabled are totally free of cost and are maintained and developed by mobilizing resources from the Govt. of India, philanthropic public and private business organizations in the form of donations and financial assistances.

a) Free Special school for the Hearing Handicapped:

This special school has got 10 classes starting from class 1 to class 10 with 73 Handicapped students and 15 special teachers to teach them in special language with the help of electronic Hearing aids and group hearing equipments in different classes.

b) Free Special school for the Mentally Challenged:

This wing of the special school consist of 4 classes with 5 special teachers to take care of them in teaching the daily living activities and small easy leasons with the help of toys, models, and charts depending upon their Mental ability and learning capacity. These Mentally Challenged children are exposed to practical and demonstration classes like Bathing, brushing, use of toilets, washing cloths, cooking, Tea preparation and prayer etc.

c) Free Vocational Training:

The special education given to the disabled children will be of no use unless the disabled children get the power of earning their livelihood independently. Hence in order to enable the Disabled children to earn their livelihood and for economic Independence, different types of vocational trainings like Book Binding, envelop covers, Computer & DTP, tailoring & Embroidery, paper bags making, and candle making etc are provided by special Trained vocational teachers.

d) Free Speech Therapy:

The greatest problem for the Mentally Challenged and Hearing Impaired students is the lack of speech and communication ability. Hence both the Mentally Challenged and Hearing Impaired students are subjected to speech development therapy regularly by expert teachers with the help of electronic speech trainer equipments. By this process the mentally retarded and the Hearing Impaired children slowly develop in due course of time the ability to speak and express their feelings to a great extent which ultimately becomes a great help for them to communicate properly with the other normal people of the society where they live in.

e) Free Physiotherapy:

The disabled children specially the Mentally Retarded students with Multiple Disabilities are subjected to physiotherapy classes for inducing mobility to their appendages and make them active and energetic to move from place to place initially with the help of the trainer and later independently. This therapy also initiates an urge with them for undertaking small works in the vocational training classes while tuning their brain and toning up their muscles to give necessary commands to the other parts of the body as per the need and the situational demand.

f) Free Games & sports therapy:

All the disabled children both the (Mentally Retarded and Hearing impaired) are motivated to take part in different types of games and sports activities to stimulate and activate the dull brain to take interest to move along with other children which ultimately initiates the mind and brain development and slowly creates interest in them to imitate other children in their different activities.

g) Free Transport facility Funded by THE HANS FOUNDATION, New Delhi:

All the Rural poor Disabled children are provided free Transport provision for door to door pick-up and dropping services.

h) Free Facilities in the hostel for the Residential students:

At present there are 60 Disabled students in the hostel. Another 120 Mentally Retarded children/adults are waitlisted for want of accommodation. Mentally Retarded children and adults having no parents and who’s parents are extremely poor and are incapable of taking care of their Disabled children, are given priority for admission into the hostel. Well-ventilated rooms with Iron cots, Lockers, Shelves etc are provided. Light and fan arrangement has been made in all Rooms.

i) Free Parent Training Programme:

The Institute offers free counseling services by trained professionals to the family members of the Mentally Retarded and Hearing Impaired students depending upon their family needs either individually or in groups regarding their care & welfare of the disabled.

j) REGULAR FREE HEALTH CHECK-UP & TREATMENT:

Free Health check-ups and treatment for common ailments with free distribution of required medicines etc. to all the Disabled students is being carried on every month by the medical team of the JINDAL STAINLESS STEEL LTD. (J.S.L LIMITED), Kothavalasa.

Emergency treatment is being given by the organization’s Doctor.

k) Out Standing Achievements:

  1. Twenty four (64) Hearing Impaired students thotse who had joined in the Institution earlier for special education, have successfully passed the 10th class public examination along with the normal students conducted by the Govt. of AP.
  2. The Chaitanya Institute has cooperated and coordinated the employment and admission of the passed out Disabled students in different organization and higher Educational Institutions.
The Disabled students of Chaitanya Institute have been awarded medal and awards for their participation and good performance in sports and games in the Special Olympics in the year 2005. Similarly in the year 2007 and 2009 the Chaitanya institute has received the CHAMPIAN TROPY in the Special Olympics with 43 medals for the spectacular achievements of the both Deaf & Mentally Retarded students.
